Club Information
Founded in 1947, the Four Corners Gem & Mineral Club provides
a great opportunity to learn about the earth sciences, lapidary arts, and
metalsmithing. The primary purpose of this organization is to collect and
identify rocks, gems, and minerals. With a fully equipped workshop, members can
cut and polish their own specimens. Metalsmithing and other associated crafts
are also offered on a regular basis.
Activities include informational programs, field trips,
lectures and seminars. The Annual Gem & Mineral Show, sponsored by the club,
attracts hundreds of people to the La Plata county Fairgrounds.
Membership dues are $10 per year for individuals and $15 for families. Program
meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 7:30 PM.

The swap will be held in the City Park located in the northwest corner of
Ellinwood, Kansas . Rocks, minerals, gems and fossils will be available to buy,
sell or trade. (Dealers bring your own tables. There is free camping. Electrical
hook-up is available for $5.00 per day.) A traditional pot luck supper is
scheduled for Friday at 7 pm. Bring a covered dish and your own table service.
An auction will follow the supper. Hosted by the Ellinwood Chamber of Commerce

The “Chaparral Rockhounds” of Roswell, NM,”, our annual ten-day, nine-night
fieldtrip campout through the Labor Day weekend held at Apache Creek, New
Mexico, from August 23 to September 1, 2008. This is an “Inter-Federation
Campout & Fieldtrip Event” for the whole family with the Rocky Mountain,
California and the South Central Federations (and all other Federation who wish

Red Rock Canyon is located on the South edge of Hinton, OK. South of I-40 about
5 miles. This is a swap with some selling. (No full time dealers). Antone who
makes it a full time business. There are some full hookups, electrical only and
tent camping. There is a charge for camping. Check for discounts. Each swapper
is ask to make a donation for Scholarship Auction.
